New Delhi: Chairman of Delhi BJP Adesh Gupta on Wednesday urged Lieutenant Governor of Baijal to enable people to visit temples and other religious places given the decline in Covid cases in the capital.
In the midst of the increase in the Coronavirus case during the third wave, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), chaired by Baijal, had previously directed that religious places would remain open but visitors would not be permitted there.
In the letter, the word gupta with the Covid case fell, DDMA had lifted weekly night hours and allowed the reopening of the school, fitness center, spa, swimming pool, cinema room, government and private offices, wedding rooms, restaurants, among others.
However, the temple and religious places still have not received permission to allow worshipers, he said.
President Delhi BJP said this restriction caused discomfort for those who went to religious places regularly to worship.
He urged Baijal to reopen religious places and temples that remember religious sentiments.
