New Delhi: About 1.5 Elderly Crore Above 60 years has not started vaccinations against Covid-19, health officials said urging individuals to advance for vaccination and those who qualified for prevention doses to also receive Jab.
It assumes significance because even when Omicron is considered to cause a majority Covid-19 infection, experts show that the old man, especially those who have co-morbidity and those who are not vaccinated are still at higher risk and are also the majority of hospitalization.
Emphasizing that hospitalization and higher death among those who did not divinate, the government quoted data from a study conducted in New York which showed that infected opportunities were 78% lower in among being fully vaccinated, while full vaccination also reduced the inpatient opportunities between 90.2% -95.7% compared to those who were not vaccinated.
“Vaccination is an important pillar in our Covid response program,” said Niti Aayog (Health) VK Paul.
“This is our attraction, anyone who meets the requirements must take a vaccine and those over the age of 60 must take a preventive dose.” He said that some senior citizens had not received their first vaccine dose and were very susceptible to severe illness because SARS-COV2.
“We estimated 13.75 individual crore (elderly), 12.25 crores got the first dose.
We want those who are left behind to be vaccinated.
Their vulnerability is a concern for us,” Paul said.
Overall, India has given a total of 154.61 crore doses until Wednesday 10 nights.
These include 26.30 lakh (booster) prevention doses provided to health workers and front lines, along with those above 60 years.
More than 2.98 crore children aged 15-17 years have also received the first dose of Covaxin.
Among adults, 92% have received at least the first dose of covid-vaccine, while 68% are now fully vaccinated.
The government argues that it has not analyzed local data to ensure their dying vaccination status from Covid-19 in the latest surge.
“For people who take vaccines, overall hospitalization, death and infection (infection) they are reduced.
We have not analyzed data from a clear detailed perspective nationally.
This is mostly done as a sample study,” said Secretary of the Ministry of Health Lav Agarwal.
Paul added that because the case had begun to increase recently, information that was being collected and analysis would be carried out.
