Nashik: The police have arrested four people, including two health workers from Dhule Municipal Corporation, on charges of providing Covid Vaccination certificates to 3,191 beneficiaries from the city of Malegaon without analyzing them.
Dhule Police Praveen Kumar Patil told Tii, “Health Officer Dhule Municipal Corporation, Dr.
Mahesh Other, Medical Officer of Civic Dr.
Prashant Patil, Patil Vacesh and contract employees, Amol Pathre, were arrested on Saturday and returned to the Detention Police until January 17 .
We will interrogate all four of them to ascertain whether there are more beneficiaries that get the certificate.
We will also find out whether more civilians are part of this racket.
“The racket was revealed to check the door to the door last month in the eastern part of the city Maloan.
A official said the population in the eastern part of the city of Malegaon has shown strong vaccine doubts.
However, the record revealed that many residents have a full vaccination certificate issued by Dhule Municipal Corporation, about 50 km from the city of textiles.
3,191 Pay for a vaccination certificate without Shotsinspector Nitin Deshmukh from Dhule City Police told TII that initial investigation revealed that each of these beneficiaries was allegedly paid between Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 to obtain this vaccine certificate.
“The recipient of Maleon traveled 50 km and managed to get a certificate with the assistance of four who was arrested,” Deshmukh added.
“Because the vaccine doubts are very high in these areas, Civic Malegaon’s body sent a letter to Dhule Municipal Corporation to ascertain whether the beneficiaries really took their dose,” Deshmukh added.
Commissioner Municipal Dhule Devidas Tekale set up the Probe team after receiving the letter.
“The team found that a fake session with various login IDs on Cowin applications was made in three vaccination centers to show 3,191 beneficiaries fully vaccinated.
In fact, none of these beneficiaries are fully vaccinated,” civil head added.
Dhule Municipal Corporation filed a complaint against the unknown people at the City Police Station on January 7 under the 420 section 420, 467 and 468 of the Indian criminal code, in addition to the relevant provisions of the Cyber Crime Act.
“The first fake session was made on October 28 last year, where some beneficiaries were given a certificate,” Dishmukh said.
