Nagpur: The arrest of three people from Aurangabad in the past and one from the forbidden on Thursday in connection with the Dummy candidate who was planted in the examination of the recruitment of Nagpur police had brought ahead of doubtful baby swinging networks throughout the state.
The branch of the city police crime, involved in the probe, now has at least 40 people on his radar.
Although Nagpur police have not yet come to a real conclusion, whether the racket is run by individuals or networks throughout the state, the arrest of a suspect by Pimpri-Chhinchwad police in a similar case underlines the fact that police recruiting last year across Maharashtra may have planted candidates.
Source expressed changes in the pattern of police recruitment by introducing a written examination first followed by physical screening studied to pave the way to plant dummy candidates easier than in the past.
CP Amitesh Kumar, who oversees the investigation conducted by DCP Chinmay Pandit and ADDL CP Sunil Phulieri, said the arrest of Akash Shelar showed that he received assistance from Ravi Shelke connected to the ‘Police Bharti Prashikshan Kendra’ called ‘in Beed.
“We do not rule out care institutions that might have attracted many of these candidates to help them pass the police recruitment exam with dolls.
Our probe lights up,” Kumar said.
Asst PI Om Sontakke of Crime Branch, who was an investigative officer, said that it had discussed that the candidates had paid several squeezers to come to Nagpur to appear for the exam.
“Some candidates have promised to pay dolls after getting a job with the money they get through dowry,” Sontakke said.
Kumar said at first eight people like it was found disguised as someone else in the examination or had sent dolls in their place.
“This racket seems to operate from Maharashtra Barat.
More arrests will be done soon,” he said.
