LONDON: The fate of the eight-year-old Alpaca destined named Geronimo has triggered protest against the Prime Minister of England, Boris Johnson, after his government ordered the animal to be lowered due to a positive test for TB Bovine.
The command to kill Alpaca pushed the request from the owner of Helen Macdonald for Johnson and his wife, Carrie, to show mercy, encouraging several celebrities to demand the prime minister turn from what they did as a disaster of public relations.
March at the Johnson Downing Street base by Geronimo fans planned for Monday and more than 97,000 people have signed a petition called for creatures to be saved.
When the ministers insisted Geronimo had to be placed, Johnson’s father who was 80 years old, Stanley, appealed “justice execution” which must be avoided so that Geronimo can live in peace in the British district of Gloucestershire.
“I hope and believe his execution can be avoided even in this final stage,” Johnson’s father was quoted as saying in the Sun tabloid, added that he hoped MacDonald’s owners would block the Ministry of Agriculture staff from “carrying out their absurd murder tasks”.
Macdonald, an animal nurse, said Alpaca was negative when he was taken from New Zealand and he had spent thousands of pounds at the battle of the court who failed to save the animal.
He told the sun that he would “take a bullet” for Alpaca.
Agricultural Secretary, George Eustice, said that while Geronimo’s fate was sad, the rules were clear that the positive animal tested for TB must be killed.
British ministers have been baked at Geronimo’s fate for days.
Interviewed at the Sky Kwasi Business Secretary Kwarteng said, “This is clearly difficult because there are many people who invest emotionally in an animal story, but there is a policy, and there is a reason why the policy will not be stopped.” Macdonald did not immediately respond to a comment request.
