Coimbatore: Alstom, a global company for Green Mobility Solutions, inaugurated a new component manufacturer facility in Coimbatore with an average investment of 25 million euros.
It is Alstom’s largest manufacturing facility in Asia spread over 15 hectares dedicated to improving industrial efficiency in manufacturing components for various national and international projects.
It is expected to make 10,000 direct and indirect jobs.
This site has taken several sustainability steps such as – targeting 80% of regular activities to run on green energy, utilizing 100% natural light during the day, harvest rainwater and reuse 100% water treated waste.
“French companies are fully committed to ‘making in India’ and accelerating behind strong bilateral relations between the two countries,” said Emmanuel Lenain, the French Ambassador to India.
It is very encouraging to see Indian retaliation who hold global mobility, he said.
The presence of the Alstom industry in Coimbatore has evolved in three locations since 1978.
“Our presence in Coimbatore Dates to the 1970s and since then we have grown multi-folding,” Alain Sprohr, Alstom India.
He said the opening of this facility was proof of our commitment to the initiative of ‘Make In India’ Government ‘&’ Atmanirbhar Bharat ‘.
