Jaipur / Alwar: Alwar Police on Wednesday arrested eight gang members ‘sextortion’ targeting people including an Indian man settling in the US in the US.
The defendant had extorted almost Rs 15 Crore from different people with extorting it.
Alwar SP Tejswani Gautam said the police had learned that some suspects were people who squeezed people through porn clips and special teams established to investigate this problem.
A police officer carried out a bait operation and immediately touched the one who was accused of disguised as a woman.
The defendant demanded Rs 10,000 from the police, after someone who was turned on near Flyover Roopbas in Alwar.
The police confiscated his cellphone and found that the message and video call sent to Constable came from the same SIM.
Then, the police arrested all accused of being identified as Gafruddin, aka Shoeb (28), Saif Ali, aka Saifu (26), Akram Khan (33), Sajid, aka Dhola (21), Rashid (21), Rashid (21) 21), Rashid (21), Rashid (21), Rashid (21), Rashid (21), Rashid (21), Rashid (21), Rashid (21), Rashid Khan (20) and Moen (20).
Except for Moen, a resident of Shastri Nagar Jaipur, the rest is a dausa district resident.
The police said the defendant depends on the same modus operandi where gang members will disguise as beautiful women on social media sites to be friends with potential targets.
Online flirting casually immediately turned into a brave chat until the number was exchanged for WhatsApp.
The next bait is a pornography where the victim thinks the person in the clip is ‘woman’ that he talks to and is always fooled to spoil the sex action noted.
The accusation began to squeeze the victim, demanding big money at various stages.
However, this time, the gang also targets India Non-Resident (NRI), settling in Texas, USA.
“He told us that the gang tried to squeeze it.
We told him not to send money to the defendant,” Gautam said.
Police Alwar said they monitored similar gangs targeting people through porn clips that had been downloaded before.
