Alwar: Gurugram Police on Friday arrested three people, including indigenous Alwar, for allegedly stealing two baby girls from Delhi Hospital and tried to sell it for Rs 3 Lakh in Alwar.
An automatic pedicab driver, with suspicion, took a vehicle to the DLF phase 3 police station where they were arrested.
Gurugram police on Sunday said a team tended to visit Alwar to get more details of the syndicated gang racket involved in stealing babies.
According to the police, three people, Surender Kaur (44), a resident of Delhi, Neha (37) from Delhi, and Harjinder Singh, indigenous Alwar, had ordered a taxi near Dhaula Kuan in Delhi for 4,000 to travel Alwar in Rajasthan.
“During their telephone conversation, the driver of the Auto-Rickshaw, Umesh Lohia (35), a resident of Gurugram, was suspicious.
He understood that all three would sell babies aged 20 days and 21 days,” said a senior police officer Gurugram.
Initially, they had planned to travel to Alwar from Dhola Kaan Kauan, but when they could not seal the agreement, they asked the driver to take them to Gurugram.
“Babies have been submitted to the committee and the welfare efforts of children to track their parents,” said Preet Pal Sangwan, assistant Commissioner of Police (crime), Gurugram, during a press conference.
