AmaAl Malik has managed to create a niche for itself in the Indian music room.
Today, he is one of the most sought-after composers in this industry.
In an exclusive conversation with Etimes, the singer spilled beans in his professional equation with Malik’s army brother, his love for fellow singer Shreya Ghoshal, and more.
Quote …
Armaan and you are a brother and make a Helluva team as a composer singer.
What kind of equations do you share professionally? We are very receptive as musicians and are very blunt too.
There is a lot he learned from my work style and a lot I understand from the method.
We accept each other like us and don’t try to change the other; We allow things to flow only when we are jammed.
Usually, we are both sure about what works for songs and what is missing; So we are almost always on the same page.
We have completed almost 40 songs together and I think he understands my music like no one else.
We still often fight when we recorded vocals together, but now, this is a little less because it has given every song that is perfectly dipped into the emotions and her singing is at another level.
I am very proud of the way he takes forward inheritance and goes globally with English pop music and his arrival in the southern industry with a blockbuster like ‘Butta Bomma’.
We listen to music that is very different, so there are many exchanges there too.
Finally, we feed their respective music, and help each other grow up as a musician.

In one of your interviews, you said you want all your songs sung by Shreya Ghoshal.
What makes him stand apart from the others? How can I explain magic? Do you think it’s possible? He is versatile like the others – a legendary Indian singer.
He is a great human, friend and guide.
It is my honor to be able to work with him.
I would love to make more songs for him.
He is my most favorite women’s singer of all time, and I think many singers from our country look at him.
One music composer that has greatly influenced you for increasing your year …
Never existed (laugh).
My grandfather Sardar Malik, Mohan Mohan Saab, SD Burman, Lax-Pyarellal Ji, Rd Burman, Jatin-Latal, my father Daboo Malik, Pritam, and Ar Rahman.
