Chandigarh: The Chairman of the Punjab Minister Amarinder Singh on Wednesday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately begin the steps for the revocation of controversial agricultural law, and amendments to relevant laws in the ‘free legal assistance’ category.
Amarinder was called in Modi in Delhi on Wednesday night and sent two separate letters, called for immediate reviews and revocation of three agricultural laws that “triggered extensive hatred” among Punjab farmers and other countries, who have protested on the Delhi border Since then November 26 last year.
Pointing to prolonged agitation, the minister’s chairman said the stamp has the potential to cause security threats for Punjab and the state with anti-Indian forces supported by packs who want to exploit the imbalances of farmers with the government.
Urged the intervention of the prime minister to the exhibitions of farmers to explore the eternal solution, the minister’s head said advanced agitation not only affected economic activities in Punjab but also had the potential to affect social fabrics, especially when political parties and groups took a strong position.
Amarinder noted that he was before, looking for the appointment of the prime minister for a meeting with the delegation of all parties from Punjab.
He further underlined the need to compensate for farmers for the management of rice straw @ Rs.100 per quintal and also to overcome fear of lack of lack, which can worsen the problem of farmers and the crisis triggered by agricultural law.
In another letter, Amarinder emphasized that because of the fragmentation of land ownership, and continuous disputes with Lessees and various operators and market agents, farmers also faced high litigation today, causing stress on their financial resources.
Emphasizing the need to reduce the financial burden of farmers as a result of the litigation, he noted that the Act of the Central Legal Service Authority, 1987 provided free legal assistance for certain categories of people, which was considered as a vulnerable part of the community.
Indicates that the country farmers are also vulnerable, he said they were, sometimes, forced to commit suicide because of financial problems.
“Thus, the need for hours to change Part 12 of the Law Service Authority Law, 1987, to include farmers and agricultural workers in the category of people who are entitled to free law services to pursue and defend themselves in court to secure and defend themselves in court Secure their livelihood, “Amarinder said.
He felt this step would help reduce farmers’ suicide cases and ensure better protection of their legal and financial rights.
Amarinder urged Modi to tell the central ministry concerned which deals with the welfare and law of farmers to carry out the amendments needed for the Law Service Authority Act, 1987, in the interests of larger farmers.
