NEW DELHI: The J&K authorities has cancelled the yearly Amarnath pilgrimage because of the prevailing Covid-19 scenario after a conversation with Amarnathji Shrine Board members.
“Shri Amarnathji Yatra cancelled in aftermath of Covid-19 Pandemic.
Conclusion after threadbare conversation with Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board members.
Yatra to be symbolic only.
But, all of the standard religious rituals will be carried out in the Holy Cave Shrine according to convention,” tweeted that the workplace of L&G Manoj Sinha.
“It is very important to store people’s lives.
Therefore, it’s not a good idea to hold and run this year’s pilgrimage from the public interest,” the workplace farther said.
The 56-day yatra into the 3,880-metre-high cave shrine of Lord Shiva, found in the top reaches of Himalayas, has been assumed to commence in the twin paths of Pahalgam and Baltal on June 28 and culminate on August 22.
The pilgrimage had been cancelled 2020 also as a result of pandemic.
But, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board stated it’ll organize online darshan for several of the devotees worldwide.
