Ambala reports 20 fresh Covid-19 cases, 36 discharges

AMBALA: Ambala district reported 20 positive cases of Covid-19 and the total case tally now reached 29,882 with 265 active cases, said on Saturday, district civil surgeon Dr Kuldeep Singh.
As many as 36 patients were discharged, taking the recovery count to 29,120 with a recovery rate of 97.45%, he said.
He said Chourmastpur reported 6 cases, followed by Shahzadpur (5), Ambala City (4), Ambala Cantt and Barara (2 each) and Mullana (1).
He added that a total of 497 deaths have been reported in the district so far, with the mortality rate of 1.64%.
He said the health and family welfare department in Ambala has so far given 4,64,985 doses of Covid-19 vaccines.
“So far, we have collected 4,32,993 samples for Covid-19 testing in Ambala, of which, 3,64,720 are RT-PCR samples and 68,273 are antigen testing kit samples.
In Ambala, we have collected 3,83,859 samples per 10 lakh population, said Dr Singh.
