Lucknow: Ambulance services throughout Uttar Pradesh are still badly affected because of the ongoing attacks by drivers and support staff for their demands and concerns about the future.
Ambulance staff worried after the entry of new players in ambulance services in the state in June 2021.
Since 2012, ambulance services have been provided by GVK Emri.
In 2017, GVK Emri was also given the task of running an ambulance of advanced life support (ALS).
But in June 2021, the responsibility for running ALS services was handed over to new players Ziqitza Gulf Medical Response and Ambulance Services (Ziqitza).
Even when the surrender of GVK Emri to Ziqitza is expected to begin at any time, there is confusion among employees and emergency medical technicians – about their status and future.
Those who work with ALS ambulances are afraid of a large amount of work losses because they will be excessive for old companies while new companies are likely to involve new people.
Meanwhile, new companies have started their recruitment drive.
Als employees are also worried about the salaries offered by new players.
Against around RS 13,000 in GVK Emri, new players only offer RS 10,000.
They asked the driver to submit a draft request RS 20,000 for training new employees.
Staff have represented their problems up to NHM, the Ministry of Health and the State Labor but did not work.
“We have asked the main stakeholders to overcome our concerns, but no one lends our ears in the past month,” said Hanuman Pandey, President of the Ambulance Staff Association.
They have protested since July 23.
On Monday, staff of 108 (emergency services) and 102 (national ambulance services) extended support to agitating Als employees.
Senior Vice President GVK Emri TSVK Reddy said: “The fact that the patient suffers cannot be denied.
But we do not have to be blamed because we are trapped in a shootout between staff who are nervous on the one hand and the government and Ziqitza on the other side.
In fact, the patient’s services are partly continued At our request and counseling to the association.
“Around 3:00 p.m.
the government managed to bring leaders to the table to dialogue.
While talking talks, the association continues the patient’s care services partially.
But the meeting was still inconclusive.
“Pressurized health officials to us to give up but we have been brought to a ravine by their wrong policy.
The government spends millions of skills and skills development and our experience is being damaged.
We need a written guarantee,” Hanuman said to Ti.
Additional Head of Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Amit Mohan Prasad told reporters: “Talking is taking place with anxious driver and a friendly solution will be achieved soon.”
