Ahmedabad: Lal Darwaza Bus Station, founded in 1955, will now be renovated with the inheritance that provides themes.
The bus station in the heart of the city is the Spartan facility.
Now it will be transformed into a warehouse with pillars that reflect the Leitmotif Heritage.
The Ahmedabad City Transportation Service (AMTS) will immediately begin the process of destroying the old bus station.
Officials at AMT said that the cost of the project to renovate the bus station would be around Rs 6.30 Crore.
To meet the electrical requirements at the station, solar power settings will appear on the existing zero platform.
Officials say that the main building will have the pattern of Jali Sidi Saiyyed in the window.
Also, the famous trembling Minaret will display on the pillar.
Officials said that the plan was to paint the building with pictures of city heritage monuments.
The height in the building will also have big Jali.
The control cabin on each platform will wear a legacy display.
The control cabin window will bear the replica of the heritage monument.
Officials said that because there were several monuments within a 2,000 meter station radius, the approval of the Indian archaeological survey needed for renovation.
Therefore the project, which was approved in 2017 at a cost of Rs 5.72 Crore, was postponed for more than four years.
Officials said that the project would take a year to complete and it would likely be ready in August 2022.
Officials said that the station would have a platform that increased by about nine inches and therefore the road would be built to provide easy access to people with disabilities.
Officials say that the last two platforms and canteens will be destroyed and make their way for parking.
The new platform will appear on the side of the station.
Officials said that the state government had in 2016-17 allocated Rs 1.5 Crore for temporary renovations in 2017-18 RS 2.5 other Crore provided.
Officials said that in the early 2000s, the refundal project of the walled city was planned and then it was decided to renovate the Lal Darwaza station.
But the project continued to change and then it was decided to accommodate the AMC office on the first floor of the facilities and bus stations on the ground floor.
However, finally AMC has decided to only have a station at the facility.
