Washington: Americans quit their jobs at a record speed for the second consecutive month in September, while businesses and other employers post a number of records available.
The Labor Department said Friday that 4.4 million people quit their work that month, or about 3% of the nation’s labor.
It rose from 4.3 million in August.
There were 10.4 million job openings, down from 10.6 million in August, which was revised higher.
The numbers point to the level of historic chaos in the job market when new workers are empowered to quit jobs to take higher wages that will be demanded by an increasingly desperate employer who needs help.
Increasing income, Americans spend more and the economy grows, and entrepreneurs have increased rapidly to maintain speed.
However, inflation increases many of the salary increases for workers.
Usually it is considered a signal of worker trust when people start leaving the work they hold.
Most people stop for new positions.
Competition for workers is very intense for retailers and shipping companies, especially because they are staff for what is expected to be a healthy winter holiday season.
Amazon’s online giant is recruiting 125,000 permanent workers and warehouse workers and offers payments between USD 18 and USD 22 per hour.
It also pays the entry bonus of up to USD 3,000.
Seasonal recruitment also increases.
The UPS company delivery package seeks to add 100,000 workers to help with a crush on vacation orders, and plan to make job offers to several applicants within 30 minutes.
