Amid Increasing Covid-19 Instances, Manipur extends Closing of Universities

IMPHAL: The Manipur government has expanded the closing of universities until further requests because of the prevailing Covid-19 scenario, officials said Tuesday.
The state authorities had announced summer holiday in the colleges from May 1 to May 31 to undertake the spike in coronavirus instances.

The order also stated that”online courses will probably be resumed/ continuing as normal with immediate effect”.
All training courses and hostels may also stay closed,” it stated.
The country on Tuesday reported 798 fresh Covid-19 cases pushing against the tally into 51,549.
Eighteen new deaths were registered to select the death toll on 825.
Schools in Manipur had reopened on January 27 following a gap of ten decades to courses 9-12.
Back in April, the country jurisdiction had declared to postone that the matriculation examination and high secondary assessment that were scheduled to be held in May 6 and May 5 respectively.
