Hyderabad: All Indian Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimen (AIMIM) MLC Syed Aminul Hasan Jafri will assume the allegations as the Pro-Tem chairman of the Legislative Council of the State of Telangana on Thursday.
The Governor of Tamilisai Soundararajan issued an order on Wednesday appointed Jafri as a pro-TEM chairman with the effect of January 11.
He will be the first candidate from the Muslim community to hold a coveted post on the State Council of Telangana.
AIMIM has two MLCs including Jafri in 40 members of the upper house in the state.
Jafri has become MLC for the past 12 years.
Legislative Secretary Telangana Narasimha Charyulu on Wednesday called Jafri at his residence and discussed the settings that must be made for him to carry out costs.
Chief of Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao completed the name Jafri, one of the most senior MLCs at the Telangana Council, for the chair of the Pro-Tem Chair.
The newly appointed Pro-TEM chairman is expected to give an oath to the newly elected 12 MLC and also hold an election for the position of Chairperson of the Board later.
TRS and AIMIM are friendly parties.
Previously, CM KCR had gave post pro-TEM speakers in the state legislature for Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, one of the senior MLA in the state.
The Legislative Council of Telangana has been without full time chairman for the past seven months.
The full chairman of Gutha Sukender Reddy retired in June last year after V Bhoopal Reddy was used as Pro Chairman Tem.

With the term Bhoopal Reddy will end on January 4, 2022, Jafri has been appointed as a pro-TEM chairman.
