Hyderabad: Amul milk giant is ready to step into Telangana with the first and largest milk processing and value of dairy product dairy products in South India.
This facility, which is expected to appear in a special food processing zone near Gajwel, will appear in an investment in Rs 500 Crore and is expected to create around 500 direct work.
To be arranged by one of the biggest cooperatives Amul – Manufacturer of Cooperative Milk District Sabarkantha Union Ltd, better known as patience Dairy, this facility will see investment poured in phase – 300 crore in the first phase and 200 crore in seconds.
The first phase will see the facilities will have the capacity to process 5 latric liters of milk per day, which can be expanded to 10 lakh liters per day later.
The proposed factory will not only pack fresh milk but also processing value-added dairy products such as curd, buttermilk, lassi, yogurt, paneer and candy, among others.
Indicates that this will be an amular owned facility in South India, the GCMMF General Manager-Marketing Manorajan Pani told TI that it would take around a few years for facilities to be ready for operations starting with a capacity of 5 lakh liters per day.
He said the plan was being done to come up with the bread division at the facilities proposed in the second phase where products such as bread, biscuits, traditional sweets and grilled snacks will be produced.
The proposed Amul facilities are also expected to provide encouragement for the local Telangana and additional industrial industries because Amul will get the necessary milk and other raw materials from farmers and various cooperatives operating in the state.
Sajari Manager Director Dairy Babubhai M Patel said Amul decided to establish their factory in Telangana after seeing industrial friendly policies and dynamic investment ecosystems.
“We will soon give ‘Telanangana’s milk products’,” he said while signing the MoU with the Telangana Government in front of the Telangana Industry Minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday.
