Kolkata: Fast thinking by the four local anacapur young men on Monday night, when they chose to dive into the pool to hear a big spark, helping to save four people trapped in the car trapped in the pond mud.
Even though the young men dived into the pool, destroying the window and managed to drag the quartet trapped inside, the car could be pulled out of the pool only on Tuesday morning – six hours later.
The accident took place in Subhash Nagar in Anandapur at 10pm on Monday.
Akash Roy alias Sunny drove a red hatchback.
Three of his friends – Rahul Gupta, Vicky Choudhary and Puja Thapa – were in the car.
The four were in the early 20s and lived in Kasba and Mukundapur.
They headed to the Tagore telephone pub when Roy judged a narrow road from the street service anandapur because of a puddle of water and the car fell in the pool facing down.
An officer said: “When their car reaches Netaji Sporting Club in the anandapur, the residents are confused because there is heavy water Open.
Roy stuck on the road but drove directly into the pool.

The four of us jumped into the water.
