Although the bad ragging incident was reported on February 4, the incident was revealed only after the parents of a first year student filed an official complaint with the JNTU college academic council.
The council, which concluded after a detailed investigation that Ragging took place in Gurukula Hostel, suspended 18 students from the second year engineering on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Anantapur District Police took Suo Motu’s awareness of this case and the DSP ranking officer was appointed to investigate the incident even though there were no complaints submitted by the victims or by college management.
