Andhra Pradesh Cm to visit Odisha on November 9 to discuss the issues between countries

Bhubaneswar: Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will visit Odisha on Tuesday to discuss various problems between countries with his colleague Naveen Patnik.
The official source at the office of the minister’s chairman said that the two main ministers tended to take Kotia’s problems and border disputes in other districts between the two countries during the meeting.
Senior officials from both countries will attend meetings that are likely to be held at the State Convention Center.
Kotia Gram Panchayat under the Pottang Block in Coraput Regency has 28 villages where 21 is in the disputed zone between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh since 1956.
The issue of Border Kotia’s dispute has begun after the formation of Andhra Pradesh.
Although both countries approached the Supreme Court in 1968 for border disputes, the APEX court had ordered the status quo in this case in 2006.
The border dispute between the countries issued after the Andhra Pradesh government conducted a Panchayat poll in three disputed villages in three villages.

In August this year, the Supreme Court had asked the state to resolve the problem of Kotia through bilateral discussions because both approached the APEX court.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been written to the Head of the Head of Chief Andhra Pradesh, who suggested bilateral discussions with Odisha Naveen Patnaik’s colleague for a friendly solution to the problem of border disputes.
The two states also locked the horns on problems between other countries such as Plavaram and Vansadhara River Water disputes, which can also be taken during the meeting.
