VISAKHAPATNAM: Following the continuing Covid-19 pandemic, numerous autonomous technology schools and institutions from Andhra Pradesh are utilizing new-age technologies like proctoring programs to run examinations through a digital manner. Although the proctoring programs are around for the past several decades, the pandemic hastened their adoption as a result of risks involved with the real presence of pupils and invigilators in examination halls.
The distant proctored examinations are becoming the new standard in the past several months as a result of disruptions brought on by the second wave. The artificial intelligence-based program functions on facial recognition, pattern recognition, body and eye motion along with additional calculations for cheat-proof examinations.
The test-tracking program, which doubles as a potent invigilator, mainly benefit from the internet camera in the candidate’s personal computer and catches the test session. Speaking to TOI, Gitam Deemed-to-be University vice-chancellor Prof K Sivaramakrishna stated Gitam and some other engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh are employing a specific proctoring platform to run online examinations. “Along with this, we’re also providing remote accessibility to our own labs to attend technical assessments. The almost 14,000 pupils of Gitam, that are living in various countries of the nation, are looking for examinations with no difficulty,” explained Prof Sivaramakrishna.
Vice-principal and dean, Vignan’s Institute of Information Technology, Dr K Madhusudhana Rao, said that the institute ran the mid examinations by utilizing proctoring program. “Many IT firms and other businesses are running campus placement evaluations and interviews by their very own proctoring tools. The pupils are taking other examinations in virtual style.
