Tirupati: The death toll from a devastating flood in four Rayalaseema districts in Andhra Pradesh rose to 29 on Saturday, with around 50 people still missing.
While six people were destroyed to death in a collapse home in the Anantapur district, six more deaths were reported from Chittoor.
17 deaths were reported from the four affected districts on Friday, where 12 fatalities came from Kadapa.
Tolls tend to rise because there is no clarity on their fate drifting in flash floods.
Heavy rains triggered by a series of depression in Bengal Bay caused the overflowing of rivers and water projects, causing flash floods in Chittoor, Kadapa, Anantapur and Nellore for the last 72 hours.
Thousands remained stranded when the road to several villages had given up on the flow of water flowing.
