LONDON: Andy Murray has parted ways with the long-term coach Jamie Delgado ahead of the 2022 season, according to a report in British media on Friday.
Delgado has been in Murray’s team since 2016, helping him to the second Wimbledon title and world number one place in the same year.
He took over as the main coach of Ivan Lendl in 2017, before Murray’s career slipped by a hip injury.
Despite returning to the ATP tour after two operations, the 34-year-old had slipped to 134 in the world.
Delgado will work with Canada Denis Shapovalov, which is ranked 14th in the world, the report said.
Murray will continue the trial with Germany Jan De Witt at an exhibition at Abu Dhabi next week as she prepares for Australia next month.
Scot, who recently worked with former coach Johanna Curbil, will play Dominic Thiem at Mubadala World Tennis Championship, with a match against Rafael Nadal if he beat Austria.
