Yavatmal: After stopping working from August 17, Angganwadi Sevika Kruti Samiti on Tuesday returned a cellphone “below the standard and the wrong” given to them by the state government through the ICDS authority.
On Tuesday, Sevikas in all districts approached project officers at the Pancir Samiti office to hand over the cellphone.
Samiti District President, Anita Kulkarni, told TII that the government had provided 1,05,592 cellphones to Sevikas in 2019 which aimed to collect updated information about beneficiaries.
“Sevikas uses a telephone regularly, but all devices become dead one by one after the warranty of the two-year end this year,” said Kulkarni.
Kulkarni further said that Sevikas should feed data at Marathi at first.
“Recently, the central government introduced applications in English about ‘nutritional diet’ which is beyond understanding of sevikas which is less educated.
In addition, the cellphones provided to them are 2GB and new applications cannot be downloaded.
