Mumbai: Former Minister of Home Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh, was arrested by the enforcement directorate in the case of money laundering, taken to hospital J J J J on Thursday for medical examinations, an official said.
All of the vital parameters are stable, the official said.
Deshmukh is currently in ED custody, where the interrogation is in connection with the money laundering case.
The NCP leader was taken out of the ed office around 12 noon and was taken to the hospital in South Mumbai, the official said.
The routine examination was conducted at the hospital between 12:30 a.m.
and at 1.30 in the afternoon after he was taken back to the Ed office, officially added.
Deshmukh (71) was arrested by ED Monday night after being questioned for more than 12 hours in connection with money laundering.
The former Minister has passed many calls issued by Ed in this case, but after the Bombay High Court last week refused to cancel them, he appeared before the agency on Monday.
On Tuesday, the special holiday court here stopped him in detention ED until November 6 has told the court that Dishmukh was the “main beneficiary” of the crime and was directly involved in money laundering violations.
The central agency, in his remand record, said the NCP leader appeared as a “important gear in the wheel” in this case, where the accusation of collecting Rs 100 Crore, and maintaining foreign corner involvement cannot occur ruled out.
Ed has told the court that a custodial interrogation Deshmukh was the need to watch for the sake of an ongoing investigation, and that all traces of the money should be set to bring the guilty to book.
The agency has started an investigation against Deshmukh and his colleagues after the CBI filed a brilliantly against NCP leader on April 21 this year on charges of corruption and abuse of official position.

The agency last month handed prosecution complaint (equivalent to charging sheet) against Palande and Shinde before a special court.
