Thiruvananthapuram: Anil Kant, 1988 Batch IPS officer, will take over as the head of the state police next, at vacancies created by retirement Loknath Behera.
Kant, Indigenous Delhi, served as a road safety commissioner before his post as the Head of the National Police.
In addition to serving in the temporary IB in central deputation, Anil Kant also serves as Dig and IG (intelligence) and IG (crime).
After being promoted as ADGP, he posted as chairman and director of Kerala Police Housing and Corporation, ADGP (Bureau of Crime Records), Director General of Fire and Rescue Services and Adgp (Armed Police Battalion).
He also served as Transportation Commissioner, Director of Precautions and Anti-Corruption Bureau and Prison Director and Correctional Services.
Master’s degree holders in political science, Anil Kant has been respected with the presidential police medal for meritorious and respectable services.
He will retire from IPS on January 31 next year, but must be seen if the government will offer ownership ownership.
