Hubballi: Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) plans to have a dedicated animal crematorium on the BBMP line.
The HDMC Electricity Department has initiated the process to get the price of a sophisticated crematorium unit through e-procurement.
After getting prices, officials will float short-term tenders.
Currently HDMC intends to regulate two crematoriums in Hubballi and Dharwad, each of which, where they expect expenses of up to RS 40 lakh per unit.
In the absence of animal crematoriums, people throw dead animals in the outskirts, especially on Jalan Karwar, PB Road, Gokul Road and Gopankoppa.
After the crematorium is arranged, people need to call the control room and animals will be taken to the crematorium.
HDMC has identified trash cans in Hubballi and Dharwad to arrange units.

Ravi Saligigoud, from the HDMC veterinary department said that from January this year, they had received complaints about 190 pigs, 409 dogs and 162 other animals.
After receiving complaints, HDMC staff took dead animals to the garbage yard and bury them.
