PATIALA: Police in Patiala have captured Jagmeet Singh aged 28 years, who became popular during farmer agitation because they did not move in front of the Haryana Air Cannon of Haryana, and the other two were suspected of campaigning for the SFJ 2020 banner clothing referendum and appealing to the masses to choose online .
The video of Jagmeet faced by a water cannon has become a viral on social media during farmers’ agitation, when farmers have been in November last year marching towards Delhi in protest against three agricultural laws imposed by the central government.
Police said there were no cases in the past registered against three accused of being arrested – including Jagmeet, his mother Jasvir Kaur (50), and Jagmeet’s friend Ravinder Singh (23).
Ravinder originated from Jaska Village in Bath Gobindarh at Fatehgarh Sahib.
Police said Jagmeet and Jasvir Hail from Durgapur Village in Gurdaspur, but had lived in the Housefed Society, Banur, for some time and campaigned for a referendum.
