CHENNAI: Anna University has postponed re-exam and semester exams for engineering students by a week due to the continuation of the complete lockdown in 11 districts of Tamil Nadu.
As per the new time-table, the exams will start on June 21.
Earlier, the university had announced that re-examinations of November/December 2020 session and regular exams of April/May 2021 session would commence on June 14.
“Due to Covid-19 pandemic, Tamil Nadu is under lockdown from June 7 to 14 and complete lockdown continues in 11 districts.
Such a lockdown in most of the districts and complete lockdown in the 11 districts will make it impossible for the students to buy examination stationary and to visit post office/courier office to dispatch answer sheets,” a notification from controller of examinations said.
“Considering these constraints and for the safety and welfare of the students, the re-examinations and semester examinations have been rescheduled and will commence from June 21,” the notification further said.
Anna University released the new timetable on the university’s website.
It also released fresh instructions for the partial online test.
