Agra: Five Muslim family members and their two friends were ordered by the Agra police under the new anti-conversion law for allegedly hiding their identity and imposing a 15-year-old girl from another community to get married in the Kota Hariparvat area.
Five of them had been captured by the police and returned to judicial custody on Saturday.
Class IX students, who have been lost since June 15, were reported to be found “pregnant” when he returned home on July 1.
He also “repented to Islam”.
The victim’s father told the police that a young man who had introduced himself as “Nikki Yadav”, whose real name was Kasim Qureshi, had been friends with his daughter by telephone and began to come to their homes with his mother and sister.
On June 15, the young man’s sisters came back to their house and took the girl with the pretext of shopping.
When the girl did not go home at night, her family began to look for it.
They then went to the young man’s house in Dayalbagh and found out about their true identity.
The little boy’s father stated on the FIR that the defendant’s family members told him that his daughter had tied the bond with their son and “has received Islam as his religion and his name has been changed”.
He claimed that the suspects threatened him that he would not be able to meet his daughter, if he informed the police.
Worried about his daughter’s life, he initially remained silent.
BJP Mla Purshottam Khandelwal said that the locals had contacted him and after hearing their version, he brought his family to the police station to register fir.
The police said besides accusing Kasim Qureshi and his friend Shibu, his father, mother, two sisters and other friends had been returned to the custody of the judiciary.
Speaking with Toi, Rohan Botre’s police (city) supervisor said that the FIR was registered with seven people below 363 (kidnapping), 376 (rape), 420 (cheating), 506 (criminal intimidation), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and part 3 , 4 Pocso Law, in addition to the state anti-conversion law.
Five of them were arrested and accused of main and their friends would soon be arrested, he added.
