New Delhi: Minister of Environment Gopal Rai said on Saturday that the government team had visited 103 construction sites in Delhi as part of the anti-dust campaign and had taken various actions, including wearing a fine in 32 cases of non-compliance.
The Minister expressed satisfaction with the compliance of anti-dust steps at the construction site in the mall in the North Delhi Khyber Pass area, when he paid a surprise visit.
Given the pollution in winter, the Delhi government on Thursday launched an anti-dust campaign which will expire on October 29.
Rai is making a surprise visit to the construction site to check compliance such as covering the area, the installation of smog gun and sprinkling water to control the dust spread through the air.
He has found various violations during his visit on the construction site in Pragati Maidan after that tight action was taken against the company concerned.
Rai said the Delhi pollution control committee team was checking the construction site at the district level.
He urged all private institutions and the government to follow anti-dust norms to help Delhi win it against pollution.
