New Delhi: The latest studies conducted by the Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR) show that the antibodies produced by Omicron, Covid-19 tensions, are not only effective in it but also other awareness variants (VOC) including Delta.
“Omicron-infected individuals have a significant immune response that can neutralize not only Omicron but also other VOCs include the most common Delta variants,” A study by ICMR has revealed.
“This shows that the immune response caused by Omicron can effectively neutral the Delta variant makes infection with delta less likely, thus shifting deltas as a dominant strain.

In this study, the ICMR has analyzed AGG and neutralized antibodies (nabs) against the variants of Beta, Alpha, Beta, Delta and Omicron with individual serum infected with Omicron variants (B.1.1529 and BA.1) as India is currently facing the third wave of covid pandemics -19.
ICMR said that in a short span of time, variants have shown high transmission and the ability to avoid immune responses produced against natural infections and vaccination.
The potential for omicron immune runaway is serious and further attention needs to be explored.
