Apple has changed the layout of the tab in Safari to provide a classic look for Mac that runs in the MacOS Big Sur and Catalina with Safari 15.1.
Previously, Apple released this feature while officially announcing MacOS Monterey.
Some users don’t like the design that brings together the address bar with the tab bar so Safari 15 underwent several changes since it was released at WWDC 2021.
Apple fixed it with the option to divide, this design was criticized compared to the previous version.
Apple has now decided to fully return to the Safari Old Tab layout for users who want ‘separate’ options in their web browser settings.
The new Unified design is still available and comes as a default.
Apple announced a beta version of Safari 15.1 with a traditional tab design as a specific update for users who run MacOS Catalina and Big Sur.
Now, this update is officially available for users who still run old OS and have not been upgraded to Monterey MacOS.
If you want to install a new Safari version on your Mac, open the System Preferences application and select the software update option.
If you want to go back to the old design safari can be found on the tab menu in the application preferences.
