There are still around a year left before the release of the iPhone 14 series, but rumors about the next Apple-gen devices have started circulating.
The latest claims that Apple will double the storage in the iPhone series next year.
Apple has doubled the maximum storage on this iPhone 13.
The 13 Pro and Pro Max model comes with 1TB of internal storage while storage in the iPhone 12 series is limited to 512GB.
GSmarena reported that the upcoming Apple lineup can come with 2TB QLC flash storage.
New storage options are introduced as a result of new camera features, such as prores for videos, which will be available later this year.
Video Prores, as well as 4K 60FPS recordings taken on the iPhone, take more space than standard videos.
Apple’s decision to further increase maximum storage on the iPhone next year is unknown, but Gsmarena speculates that the new camera features are one reason for lumps in storage capacity.
The user will need more storage on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max model to record video prores in 4K resolution at 30 fps.
128GB version is limited to 1080p 30 fps video prores.
Apple’s other iPhone 14 rumors usually do not offer additional storage configurations and when that happens, as well as the new camera function this year, it has a specific reason in mind.
Instead of focusing on the progress of the camera, the iPhone 14 is believed to be more emphasis on the full redesign that eliminates notches.
According to Apple Ming-Chi Kuo analyst, the iPhone 14 lineup will cover two 6.1-inches and 6.7 inches, indicating the end of a smaller 5.4-inch form factor.
Apple reportedly used the design of the holes for the face id instead of notch on the pro Max 14 Pro and iPhone 14 iPhone 14 model, which was 6.1 and 6.7 inches each.
The prospect of upscale variants with titanium bodies and steam room heating systems is also there.
