In an internal survey of 1,749 employees at Apple, 90% of them were not satisfied with the new Apple hybrid work policy which will begin from September.
The new work policy mandates employees to be physically present in the office three days a week.
Most employees want to work from houses without limits, according to the report on the verge.
“Nearly 90 percent of respondents (in surveys) said they” strongly agree “with the statement” flexible work option location is a very important problem for me.
“Employees define” flexible location “as an option to work from home indefinitely,” said the report on the verge.
What can happen to Apple is that if employees are forced to come to the office or not permitted to work from home whenever they want, some employees can stop.
This internal survey is not “approved” by Apple executives and it is a small survey sent for slack to talk about the new hybrid policy of the company.
While 1,749 employees may sound like a big figure, actually a small percentage when considering Apple’s workforce of more than 1.47 lakh.
According to the report by the threshold: responding to the statement “I was worried that some of my colleagues had to leave Apple because of the lack of flexible work choices,” 58.5% said they “strongly agree.” A total of 1,743 people answered the question.
About 36.7% “worry they must resign because of lack of flexibility.” The survey results were sent to CEO of Apple Tim Cook and Deirdre O’Brien, a retail senior vice president and people.
Cook, in the memo written to employees in June, talking about the company’s plan to return to ‘Normal’.
He said that most employees will be asked to report to the office for three days a week – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
“Video conference calls have narrowed the distance between us, to ensure, but there are things that cannot be imitated,” he said.
The memo also said that Apple would provide an opportunity for employees to work from home or from Wednesday-Wednesday and Friday if they wanted to do it.
However, some teams will be asked to work from office for 4-5 days per week.
