Apple has published a new support document that does not make fun readings for motorbike riders who like to install iPhone to their bicycles.
In support documents, Apple warns that the camera system can be damaged.
“Exposing your iPhone into high amplitude vibrations in a certain frequency range, especially those produced by high power motorcycle engines, can reduce camera system performance,” Apple said in the document.
‘Problems’ here is with OIS or optical image stabilization features on the iPhone camera.
Apple said that the OIS system was designed for durability.
“However, as with many consumer electronics that include a system such as OIS, long-term direct exposure to vibration amplitude high in a certain frequency range can reduce the performance of this system and cause reduced image quality for photos and videos,” Apple explained.
The company then tells the user that “It is recommended to avoid exposing your iPhone to extend high amplitude vibe.” What bikers should not be done with their iPhone in the core, Apple said the only high bicycle or high volume motorcycle – Super bicycles especially – produce a lot of vibration.
Apple said that this was transmitted through the chassis and bicycle handlebars.
“It is not recommended to attach your iPhone to a high-power motorcycle or high volume machine because the vibration amplitude in the specific frequency range they produce.” Although moped or small scooters produce a lower volume of amplitude, Apple said that someone also should not attach the iPhone to them.
If you want then Apple recommend “Mount Vibration Reducing suggested to reduce the risk of damage to your iPhone and the OIS and AF systems.” Apple said that attaching the iPhone to two wheels regularly should be avoided because it only increases the risk of damage to the camera system.
