Apple quietly extended the repair program for AirPods Pro from two years to three years, according to reports by Culturofmac.
Repair programs include hardware problems with devices that can cause crackling and static sound.
With additional years added to the program, airpods pro users will get free replacement if they pass Apple inspection to be eligible for the repair program.
Also, if the problem is only one of the Earbuds, Apple will only replace one, free.
Repair programs are only intended for pro airpods and not airpods or airpods max.
According to Apple, crunching sound problems only affect the pro airpods units produced before October 2020.
Problems that might arise with pro airpods can include (one or more) “crunching or static sounds that increase hard, with sports or at times Talking about the cancellation of active telephone noise does not function as expected, such as the loss of bass sound, or increased background sound, such as road noise or aircraft “if you have experienced one of the problems mentioned above.
With airpods, you can contact Apple and get a damaged unit returned.
If you choose a carry-in repair, according to what you can take the unit to the Apple Store or an official Apple service provider, make sure you have proof of purchase or original airpods box and charging case along with your original airpod.
The number of product series will also be needed which can be found on the charging cerases or at the bottom of the lid.
