Apple iPhone users, don’t connect to the Wi-Fi network name with a symbol

Apple iPhone users, don't connect to the Wi-Fi network name with a symbol
Written by news2in

Last month, a security researcher named Carl Schou found that if there was an iPhone user connected to the Wi-Fi network with the name “% P% s% s% s% s% n” then Wi-Fi can be disabled on the iPhone forever.
It turns out there is another Wi-Fi network name also that can defeat Wi-Fi on your iPhone.
Other Wi-Fi names have been discovered by the same security researcher and called “% Secretclub% Power”.
If you find an open Wi-Fi network with this name, then don’t connect because it can deactivate Wi-Fi on your iPhone.
Even resetting network settings will not help.
It can be possible that there may be other Wi-Fi network names that can kill Wi-Fi on the iPhone.
In general, the name Wi-Fi with characters such as “% s”, “% N” and “% P” can trigger an iPhone to deactivate the Wi-Fi network completely.
So, if you use an iPhone, then don’t connect to any Wi-Fi network that has a symbol in the name, especially “%”.
This is because when you select a WiFi connection with the name “% P” or “% S” or “% N”, your iPhone or iPad will stop connecting to WiFi at all.
Also, this bug affects the function of airdrop.
If you restart your iPhone, after connecting to this WiFi network, even the problem continues to exist and your iPhone and iPad will lose the ability to connect to any wifi network.
You can try resetting network settings to handle problems but may not always be enough.
To reset the network, go to General> Reset> Reset network settings.
The reason why “%” in the WiFi name creates a possible problem due to the fact that the syntax ‘% character’ is used to format the variable into the output string in the programming language.
Because the bug that has not been seen in iOS, this name with the% sign causes memory corruption.
Apple hasn’t fixed this problem, so, stay away from the name Wi-Fi with a symbol.
