Apple plans to detect early childhood autism using an iPhone camera

Apple is reported to work on the method for using an iPhone camera to detect childhood autism.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the company develops a way to use data from an iPhone camera to observe children’s behavior that can help in early diagnosis.
According to the report, Apple will use the camera on the iPhone to study facial behavior and the face of children such as how often they swung back and forth, as potential markers to detect childhood autism.
“Apple has a third brain-related research partnership with unconsent Duke University.
It aims to create an algorithm to help detect childhood autism, according to documents and people who are familiar with the work,” the report said.
The report states that Apple, as part of a privacy boost, can aim to run an algorithm for early autism detection locally on user devices.
This will not send data collected to the Cloud to be processed to protect user privacy.
According to the journal it says that research is still in the early stages.
It notes that these features may never be a user-end feature, but Apple has invested in several studies that focus on the liver before releasing a number of related features on Apple Watch.
In related news, Apple reportedly developed a tool and allowed the software driven by AI to help track the mental health of iPhone users.
Reported by the Wall Street Journal, Apple thought that the iPhone had sufficient hardware skills and data on the physical activity of users including sleep to find out whether the user suffered from depression or not.
In addition to detecting depression instructions, Apple is said to “work on technology to help diagnose depression and cognitive decline.”
