San Francisco: Apple Inc.
is likely to reduce its iPhone 13 production of 10 million units due to a shortage of global chips, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday, quoting people who are familiar with this problem.
The company is expected to produce 90 million new iPhone models at the end of this year, according to Bloomberg.
The report added that Apple told the manufacturer that the number of units would be lower because the chip supplier included Broadcom Inc.
and Texas Instruments struggled to provide components.
Apple shares fell 1.2% in trading after working hours, while Texas Instruments and Broadcom are around 1%.
Apple refused to comment.
Broadcom and Texas instruments did not immediately respond to Reuters’s comment requests.
In July, Apple estimates the slowdown in income growth and said the lack of chips, which have begun to sell the ability to sell Mac and iPad, will also make iPhone production.
Texas Instruments also provides a soft outlook for the prospect of the month, signaling the issue of chip supply for the rest of this year.
Crunch Chip has provided great pressure on the industry of cars to electronics, leading many car makers to temporarily suspend production.
With massive purchasing power and long-term supply agreements with chip vendors, Apple has examined the supply crisis better than many other companies, leading some analysts to estimate that the iPhone 13 model released in September will experience an increase in consumer devices for 5G networks.
But the iPhone maker is not immune to the global trend, said Counterpoint’s research in the record last month.
This decreases the estimation of its global smartphone delivery to 1.41 billion units from 1.45 billion units before, say Apple is better positioned that some rivals will still be affected.
