When it comes to providing the latest updates to smartphones, Apple has been far before Google and Android.
With iPhone users get updates on time, they often switch to the latest version and not on a longer version.
Apple released the official iOS adoption number and revealed that around 72% of all iPhones – launched in the last four years – now installed iOS 15.
iOS 14 is installed on 26% of the device while only 2% use a longer iOS version.
The numbers are impressive if you see the ‘older’ iPhone too.
About 63% of the iPhone was launched more than four years ago having iOS 15 running on them.
30% has iOS 14 while 7% of the iphone is longer using the previous version.
How Google and Android Bovegoogle stops often revealing the adoption number of Android.
However, on November 21, it was revealed that the most popular OS version on Android phones is Android 12.
Online reports suggest that 26.5% Android phones have Android 10 runs.
Android 10 was launched in 2019 and still popularly popular at a quarter of a smartphone.
Android 11 is second with around 24.2% of devices running the version.
Android 12, which was the latest release by Google, at that time did not find in the list.
But some brands have started launching Android 12 updates even though it is still a rather slow adoption process.
The longer Android version is still quite popular on the device.
The Android 9 pie is at 18.2% of the devices while Android 8 Oreo is in 13.7% of the device.
Looking at the numbers, many longer Android versions seem to still be on many cellphones.
For example, the Android-Pie version of 2018 – is at 18.2% of the cellphones while Android 8 Oreo is at 13.7% of smartphones.
Many brands follow their own schedules when it comes to playing Android updates.
They have a road map that usually involves premium phones that get the latest Android updates first with other models that are a little late.
Apple clearly does not have such a problem and continues to have the advantage over Google and Android.
