New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday has directed all states and the United States to apply ‘one country, a ration card scheme until July 31.
The Supreme Court has directed the center to allocate food grains for distribution among free worker migrants until the Covid situation exists.
The Apex Court has asked countries to provide the day’s ration and continue the kitchen of the community for migrant workers to provide assistance to those in need.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court also ordered the center and countries to complete the registration of all migrant workers including those in the sectors that were not positively organized on July 31.
Previously, the APEX court took a strong note about the delay in the development of software intended to register unorganized sector workers to create a national database.
It also posed a query to the center of what about the benefits of free food granules until November this year under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Garib Yojna’ will reach migrant workers who do not have a ration card.
