New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday has directed all countries and the United States to apply ‘one nation, a ration card scheme for migrants until July 31.
Judge Hakim Ashok Bhushan and Mr.
Shah issued a lot of direction on the request of three activists looking for instructions to the center and stated to ensure food security, cash transfer, and other welfare measures for migrant workers.
The Supreme Court has directed the center to allocate food grains to the state and the union area for distribution among migrant workers for free until the Covid situation exists.
It also directs the Apex Court to ask the state to provide daylight rations and continue the kitchen of the community for migrant workers.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court also ordered the center and countries to develop a portal with the help of the National Informatics Center (NIC) for registration of unorganized sector workers to give them the benefits of the welfare scheme on July 31.
Previously, the peak court took it a strong record of delays in software development intended to register unorganized sector workers to create a national database.
It also posed a query to the center of what about the benefits of free food granules until November this year under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Garib Yojna’ will reach migrant workers who do not have a ration card.
