Hyderabad: Changes in weather conditions have caused an increase in the air quality index (AQI) in the city too.
Aqi, which in the ‘moderate’ category since the west-west monsun weakened, is now ‘satisfying.’ The AQI level between 0-50 is categorized as good, 51-100 satisfying, 101-200 as moderate, 201-300 as poor, 301-400 as very poor, and 401-500 is categorized as severe.
According to the numbers of the Telangana state pollution control board, on November 12, Aqi in Bolarum aged 138, the University of Hyderabad is 121, ICRISAT is 137, Pashmylaram 144, Sanathnagar 182 and Zoo Park is 156.
AQI has now increased to 40 in Bolarum , 44 at the University of Hyderabad, 34 in Icrisat, 76 in Pashmylaram, 32 in Sanathnagar and 79 on Zoo Park.
While other cities such as Delhi NCR, Bhopal, Indore, Jaipur, Lucknow staggered because the ‘severe’ AQI level, hyderabad breathes relatively easily as a result of changing weather conditions.
“The movement of the wind dissolved in the air in the city.
Therefore, the level of pollution has dropped over the past few days.
After the wind movement stops or slows down, the AQI level can rise back to the medium category,” said an official from TSPCB.
