AQI remains within ‘very bad’ reach, can improve today but deteriorate again

Gurgaon: With the wind taking speed, city air quality increased to 310 on Monday from 364 on Sunday but still ‘very poor’ for the eighth day in a row.
Wind speeds increase from 10 km / h on Sunday to 19km / hour on Monday.
According to the state pollution control board Haryana (HSPCB), there are several fisted pollutants due to the wind.
Air monitoring stations in Teri Gram recorded the highest level of pollution on Monday, with AQI 331, followed by Sitch Vikas with AQI 304, Gwaldahari with AQI 303 and sector 51 with the lowest AQI of 301.
Air quality experts say that emissions from transportation vehicles, industry , the location of construction, burning waste, and propeller propellers, dust from roads and unfavorable meteorological conditions continue to contribute to the high level of pollution in Delhi-NCR.
“The region needs strong winds, which can eliminate pollutants.
Because the wind is quieter and low temperatures, pollutants have been stuck, resulting in an increase in pollution levels,” said Anumite Roychowdhury, Executive Director, Advocacy Research, Science and Environment Center.
According to the air quality system and weather forecasting and research (Safar), there will be further increase in air quality on Tuesday, it is even possible for the ‘poor’ category, if there is no increase in the number of fires.
Local surface winds, which contribute to improving air quality on Monday, can continue on Tuesday, increasing dispersion of pollutants.
However, from November 24, local winds and transportation can slow down, produce a slight setback in air quality.
According to the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD), Gurgaon recorded a minimum temperature of 10.4 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 25.7 degrees Celsius on Monday.
Low temperatures continue to prevent the spread of pollutants closer to the ground, air quality experts said.
On Monday, not only Gurgaon but also neighboring cities Faridabad and Delhi registered air quality, with AQIS 330 and 311.
On Sunday, Faridabad has AQI from 377 and Delhi has aqi of 349.
Tanushree Ganguly, leading the program From energy, the environment and water, say, “While Delhi’s air quality remains at the end of the ‘very poor’ category for the past week, it increases marginal on Monday because the surface wind is relatively stronger in the afternoon hours, which is profitable for dispersion of pollutants .
“Meanwhile, air quality in Noida and Ghaziabad also increased on Mondays because the cities each recorded AQIS 270 and 254 respectively.
