LONDON: England fast bowler Jofra Archer won’t rush his return from knee operation if it impacts his main aims of playing with the Twenty20 World Cup in India and also the following Ashes series against Australia after this season, ” the 26-year-old has stated.
Archer failed surgery on his knee Friday and has since been ruled out of England’s two-Test series against New Zealand beginning next month.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) can review his progress each month using all the bowler looking unsure for England’s five-Test home series against India in August and September.
“One thing I’m determined about post-elbow surgery isn’t to dash my comeback since my main focus would be to be playing England at the Twenty20 World Cup along with Ashes after this calendar year,” Archer wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.

If I return before then and figure out how to play at the home Test series against India — then ok, so be it.
If I do not, I’m quite ready to sit outside the summer.
