Area under plant insurance further down

Written by news2in

Nagpur: Areas under plant insurance that remain far below even half of the total agricultural land in Vidarbha has dipped further in 2021.
Because the application under the subsidized minister’s harvest insurance scheme was closed on July 23, a 34% decline in the area insured.
Small increase expected after last minute extra.
Because of the agricultural land with the RS 13.75 lakh hectare song in insurance in Vidarbha during the previous Kharif season, he was in the hectare of 9.75 lakh in 2021.
It reached 18% of the total insured soil.
This fall has reduced the first installment of premiums paid by 56% at RS 54 Crore.
Vidarbha is divided into Amravati and Nagpur’s income divisions covering West and East Regency.
According to estimates by the State Agriculture Department, the Amravati division that has Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldhana and Washim Regency have 32 lakh hectares of agricultural land.
The Nagpur Division has 22 lakh hectares.
District includes Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gondia and Gadchiroli.
More insurance penetration in the Division of Amravati.
This year more than 8.4 lakh hectares of land have been under the closure of plants even though it is still a decline in the previous year.
Like opposing this, only more than 1.32 lakh hectares in the Nagpur Division.
In Charied Amravati, 26% of the total fertile land has been insured.
On the other hand, only 6% of the total agricultural land included in the Nagpur Division.
This number is expected to increase because some banks through which insurance has been taken can submit data next month.
However, the source said it was possible that the protection of the Nagpur Division insurance could decline this year.
This is mostly a paddy belt.
Farmers have been adulted by last year’s experience.
Flash floods have affected plants in substantial areas.
Even when insurance claims are paid, it is not in line with the expectations of farmers.
It has left many who are discouraged, said source.
Plant losses are calculated based on the average results for the best five of the previous seven years output.
The threshold limit is set at 70% of the average.
Insurance claims only trigger if the output in a certain year falls below the threshold limit.
However, the output in the entire circle of income needs to fall and not individual or even village agriculture.
Autumn results are also determined by harvest only in plots that are notified by certain governments in certain circles.
Complexity prevents a number of farmers take insurance protection, said source.
Amitabh Pawde’s agricultural activist said this showed that farmers did not believe in the scheme.
There needs to be more transparency in the whole process.
Now it remains a unilateral agreement.
Farmers also do not get detailed documents about the policy.
In short * in the state, a 25% sauce in the area under insurance compared to last year * in the Nagpur Division, only 6% of the land covered * in the Amravati division, it was 26% * complex rules made farmers go, activists said
