NEW DELHI: Army chief General M M Naravane on Wednesday requested troops to become fully ready to fulfill all safety challenges, such as’Pakistan-abetted terror’, through a two-day trip to Kashmir to carry inventory of the ground position.
Gen Naravane, followed by Northern Command chief Lt-General Y K Joshi and 15 Corps commander Lt-General D Pandey, seen distinct units and configurations from the hinterland on Wednesday.
“The key was briefed by the regional commanders on the present safety situation and the steps being taken to recognize and target the community of over floor employees (OGWs) involved radicalization and recruitment of youth to terrorist positions,” said an officer.
“Efforts to stop local recruiting and ease surrender of neighborhood terrorists were discussed.
Lt-Gen Pandey also briefed the key on the general position on the Line of Control (LoC) in addition to the counter-terror surgeries from the hinterland,” he added.
Gen Naravane stated that the’excellent synergy’ revealed with parts of the civil government, J&K Police, Central Armed Police Forces and other safety agencies in throwing a’whole of government’ strategy had led to progress in the security scenario from the UT.
“At the day, Gen Naravane predicted on Lt Governor Manoj Sinha in Raj Bhawan and spoke how the emerging challenges and street map for long-term peace in J&K,” explained the officer.
On Thursday, Gen Naravane will see forward areas across the 778-km extended LoC amidst the brand new border ceasefire with Pakistan as February.
At a recent interview to TOI, he’d stated while the ceasefire had been’a fantastic first step’,” Pakistan might need to take’concrete action’ from the terror infrastructure working from the own soil for’normalization’ of religious ties.
