Jammu: An army officer and a Jawan killed in a mine explosion near a forward post along the control line (LOC) in Rajouri District Jammu and Kashmir Saturday night.
Confirming two fatalities, Jammu-based defense spokesman LT Col Devender Anand, “during the patrol of the regional dominance along the Loc in the Lam Nowshera sector, the mine explosion occurred where two soldiers suffered critical injuries and then died.” GOC, Corps Knight White and All Ranking of Bravehearts Lt Rishi Kumar and Sep Manjit Singh, who made the highest sacrifice in line along the control line in the Naushera sector today and offered deep condolences to their families: White Knight Corps was identified as LT Rishi Kumar , residents of Bihar, Begusarai and Sepoy Manjit Singh from Sirvewala in the Bathinda Punjab district.
Other soldiers, who suffered injuries in the explosion, were evacuated and were in care, LT COL Anand added.
“Lt Rishi Kumar and Sepoy Manjit bold and very committed to the soldier profession and made the highest sacrifice for the nation in the active task path,” said a military spokesman.
